Jager is from Brush Dale Kennels in Iowa and now lives in Cokato, Minnesota with his owner Scott Green. Jager lives with another small munsterlander, Lovec or IntCH Brush Dale’s Cheap Shot. Jager has an attractive, medium dense, soft, roan coat with gorgeous and extensive furnishings. He weighs approximately 48lbs and is average in height for a male Small Munsterlander. In the home Jager is a very calm and affectionate dog who you’ll find right next to his owner. Jager and Scott have an incredible bond. Scott describes Jager as a once in a lifetime kind of dog with his temperament, cooperation, trainability and how great of a hunting dog he is.
Scott takes Jager hunting for upland and waterfowl birds in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Kansas. Jager has hunted pheasants, quail, chukar, grouse and various waterfowl species. Ever since a young puppy, Jager has had an incredible prey drive for the breed. Searching for game was very natural for Jager and he excelled at marking and retrieving all shot birds for Scott. When Scott takes Jager hunting he doesn’t have to worry about recovering game, Jager has brought back 100% of birds that Scott has shot with him. Without formal training, Jager’s first waterfowl hunting experience was when he was 11 months old. Scott shot a massive Canadian goose that he sent Jager out for the retrieve. Jager circled the goose a few times trying to figure out how to retrieve it. He finally realized he could grab the neck and then retrieved it back to shore about 30 yards.
Jager is well know in the small munsterlander world for earning a Versatile Champion Title through the NAVHDA testing system in 2022. Becoming a Versatile Champion is a huge accomplishment showing a dog’s hunting capabilities and their trainability. Jager has done exceptionally well testing in NAVHDA with a maximum score on his Natural Ability test at 10 months old and a Prize 1 Utility Test at only 3 years old. One time during a training session, Jager, surprised Scott with how smart he is. Scott lined him up for a duck search and sent him across a pond to retrieve a duck. Scott saw Jager get the duck and then he disappeared for a few minutes. Scott was worried that he was messing around with the duck until here comes Jager with two ducks in his mouth heading back across the pond to Scott. There was no need to do a resend since Jager already got the other duck from the complete opposite direction and was bringing it back.
