Lovec is from Brush Dale Kennels in Iowa and now lives in Cokato, Minnesota with his owner Scott Green. Lovec lives with another small munsterlander, Jager or VC IntCH Brush Dale’s Open Season MH. Lovec is a very handsome dog with a medium dense, soft, dark roan coat with correct furnishings. Lovec has a very nice masculine head and is a exceptional example of the small munsterlander breed. Lovec is a very affectionate dog who loves attention from his owner, Scott. Lovec will place his paw on Scott’s hand or arm to try and get his attention. You’ll know if Lovec really likes you.. every time I see him he “purs” at me. What you could only imagine hearing, a dog making a purring noise like a cat. It’s Lovec’s way of showing affection.
When hunting Lovec is very cooperative, quarters naturally and checks back often with Scott. His obedience shines when hunting as Lovec remembers his training and is always looking to please Scott. Lovec has hunted various species of upland and waterfowl including; quail, pheasant, chuckar, sharptail, ruffed grouse, ducks and geese. If Scott had the choice to hunt with one of his dogs, Lovec would be his first choice because of how enjoyable it is to hunt with a highly cooperative dog. Lovec has gone through the NAVHDA testing system to test his hunting abilities. Scott took Lovec through the NAVHDA Natural Ability Test at 15 months old earning a maximum score and a Prize 1. Lovec has also done higher level testing and ran the NAVHDA Utility Test earning himself a Prize 2. Scott also has taken Lovec through the AKC Hunt Test and Lovec earned himself a Master Hunter Title.
One of Scott’s most memorable hunting experiences with Lovec is when he was hunting him on the Iowa opener. At this time Lovec was only 7 months old and had minimal hunting exposure the summer before hunting season. Scott was out with Lovec and shot at a rooster but it went down and took off running. Scott watched Lovec via GPS track the pheasant 185 yards before catching it. What a day to remember! And that’s not the only long retrieve Lovec has made… When Lovec reached 2.5 years of age, Scott had another rooster try taking off on him, but this time Lovec didn’t see the bird hit the ground after the shot. Scott gave the “Dead Bird” command and once again, Lovec, tracked and retrieved the bird. Scott had it recorded on his GPS as a 365 yard track by Lovec and another retrieved bird to hand.
